Trust & Proof
Can I talk to one of your buyers in my country?
We'd love to connect you — but the platform only launched in July 2026, so some countries don't have a GOTCHA buyer on it yet. Optimus Korea has been exporting direct for years though, so we know the market well. We can share Bills of Lading from real shipments to your region, with buyer details covered — we never share client information.
I've been burned buying cars online before. Why is this different?
That happens a lot in this industry. Korea's five auctions are run by large corporations selling at volume, so they grade strictly — cars are marked for things you often can't even see in person. If something appears that wasn't on their sheet, we claim it to the auction house and fix it before departure. And once the car reaches our yard, the GOTCHA crew inspects it again and sends you our own Inspection Report. If parts are needed, we quote first — you decide.
What proof of the company can you show me?
The best way is this website itself — live auction stock, How it works, membership, all in the open. On request we also share our business registration certificate and a copy of the CEO's passport, along with a one-page proposal of the service.
Which countries do you currently export to?
Our group, Optimus, is headquartered in Singapore and has exported cars to right-hand-drive markets for 15 years. Optimus Korea has mainly served South America (Chile, Paraguay) and Eastern Europe (Albania). GOTCHA is our new arm — launched in July 2026 and focused on left-hand-drive markets, starting with West Africa.
Can you send the original auction listing?
Auction sites only admit member companies, so we can't share a login. But our platform shows the auction's own listing exactly as it is — and if you need proof, we can send a screenshot of the actual auction listing.
How do I verify your documents aren't fake?
Check our Korean business number yourself — Korea's National Tax Service runs a public business-status lookup that confirms the number is active and matches our company name. We're also happy to show the originals on a video call, along with invoices in our registered Korean company's name and Bills of Lading from real shipments.
Money & Payment
Why should I feel safe wiring money to Korea?
The only upfront money is a refundable deposit, invoiced by a registered Korean company — you pay for a car only when we win it for you. If there's a country or bank you prefer to send from, tell us and we'll find the easiest route.
Can I pay after the car arrives?
No — Korean auction houses require payment within 3 days of winning, then charge a daily penalty. If a transfer is delayed, send us the transaction slip and we can pay the auction first. Payment after arrival isn't possible.
Is the deposit really refundable?
Yes. Unless a penalty from cancelling a won car is outstanding, the full deposit comes back when you close your membership. You receive a written agreement covering this at sign-up.
What's the total cost to my port?
Car price, the auction fee of 2.2–2.585%, inland delivery of $70–120, shipping, and your tier's service fee — which covers our own inspection, reconditioning, export documents, and vessel arrangement. We send one full number per car before you bid.
Isn't a $5,000 deposit too much?
The $5,000 isn't a payment for the service — it's a deposit, a matter of trust between us. If you stop using the platform, you get the full amount back.
Isn't the service fee expensive?
The fee covers a second inspection of the car, reconditioning — interior and exterior cleaning, engine bay cleaning, diffuser and air freshener, polishing out scratches where needed — plus arranging the vessel and preparing all export documents. You won't find anywhere in Korea that does all of that for this price.
Which payment methods do you accept? Any installments?
Bank transfer (TT) only for now — no installments or credit accounts at this stage.
Car & Condition
What if the car isn't as described?
Rare — auction sheets describe cars as worse than they actually are. If something shows up that wasn't on the sheet, we catch it at the GOTCHA inspection, tell you about it, and fix it before it ships.
Can I trust the mileage and accident history?
100%. Korean auctions are linked to the government system, so mileage and accident history are never hidden.
Any unpaid fines, loans, or ownership issues on the car?
Korean auctions screen for these before a car is even accepted, so problem vehicles never get in. Very occasionally a traffic fine appears while the car is being moved — if that happens, GOTCHA settles it ourselves. It never falls on you.
How many previous owners did it have?
Auction sheets often don't list the number of owners. Where Korea's vehicle-history record shows the ownership changes, we pull it and pass it to you.
Can you provide the service history?
A full maintenance history usually doesn't come with an auction car. What you get instead: the auction's official inspection sheet in English (grade + condition), the government-linked history (accident, ownership, usage) where available, and our own GOTCHA inspection — so you see the real condition clearly.
Is there any warranty?
No warranty for now — but the GOTCHA inspection and reconditioning bring the car to its best state. If our inspection turns up anything the auction didn't note, we tell you first and either fix it or, if you prefer, ask the auction to cancel.
Bidding & Winning
What if we don't win the auction?
You owe nothing. The deposit isn't the car payment — it just lets us bid. If we win, we send you the invoice for the car. If not, nothing happens.
Can I send my own inspector first?
Absolutely. Only members can enter the auction house, so give us your inspector's name in advance and we'll arrange the entrance permission.
What if I win but change my mind?
Cancelling before the auction starts is free — if the auction opens at 1 PM, you can cancel up to 12 PM. After winning, auction houses charge 15% of the winning price on a cancelled car, and we pass that invoice through at cost.
How many cars can I bid on?
As many as you like — we only come back to confirm if an order gets very large. Keep in mind a won car can't be cancelled without a penalty. Your deposit sets how much you can hold in unsettled wins — settle a car and that room opens up again.
What if the auction house cancels after I win?
It practically never happens. In the very rare case it does, we file a claim with the auction and pass the full refund straight back to you.
Shipping & Documents
How long until the car reaches me?
It depends on the route and vessel schedule — we confirm the exact schedule with our forwarder for every shipment, and you follow the ETD / ETA live in My Progress.
Do you ship to my country?
Yes — to your nearest port, with all Korean export documents prepared. You only handle local clearance, and if your side needs a document from Korea, tell us early and we'll support it.
Is marine insurance included?
We ship on CFR terms — freight to your port is included, while marine insurance and import customs are on your side. If a high-value car needs cover, we'll arrange the marine insurance for you and bill it at cost.
When are the original documents sent?
Originals appear in My Progress → Documents as soon as we have them. If your country needs the physical originals, we courier them by DHL at the same time as shipping.
Is there a minimum number of cars per month?
No minimum — we never push a number on you. Worth knowing: one car by RoRo versus four in a 40ft container can differ by $1,000+ per car in shipping, so bundling 4+ cars in a container is the cheapest way to use the wholesale price.
Can I track my shipment?
Yes. After you buy, My Progress shows the shipping ETD / ETA, and we keep chasing the forwarder to keep it updated.
Do I need additional documents for customs?
On CFR terms we don't handle destination customs. Tell us what your country requires and we'll prepare the Korean-side documents to match as closely as we can.
Can someone else collect the vehicle on my behalf?
Yes. As soon as the final payment is confirmed, we issue a Surrender B/L — hand it to your chosen person with a letter of authorization and they can pick up the car.
Your Market
Are the cars left-hand drive?
Yes — Korea is left-hand drive, unlike most Japanese stock.
Can I get parts for Korean cars in my country?
Yes. We source both genuine and used parts — send us what you need and we'll come back with prices.
Getting Started
Can I think it over or discuss with my partner?
Of course. We can put together a matched set of cars you can show them — no obligation.
I'm not the decision maker — can you talk to our buyer?
No problem — connect us with whoever handles the buying and we'll send them the one-pager with your introduction.
Can you send me information first?
Yes — we'll send the site link and one-pager, and hold 2–3 matched cars for you. When you're ready, a 20-minute Zoom is the fastest way to see the whole flow.
